Product Review: Lead Gen Videos

I've written quite a bit here about monetizing your web site with lead generation for CPA networks, but have not as yet said much about another potentially lucrative method for how to monetize a website by generating leads for offline businesses, and/or for businesses which have an online presence, but don't do a very efficient job of lead generation.

The fact is, most business owners do not have either the time or the knowledge to learn how to advertise online, and when they do, they usually use needlessly expensive Adwords campaigns. You simply show them how you can generate leads less expensively and more efficiently than they do, and chances are they will buy from you.

OK - that all sounds really simple, but how do you go about doing this? That's where this Lead Generation Videos Course comes in.

The author, Mark Vurnum, says he was making a healthy income from Adsense until about a year ago, when the bottom began to drop out for him, as it did for many top earners in the Adsense program. That is when he switched over to lead generation for direct sale to offline businesses.

The focus of these videos is on lead generation for offline businesses, although most of the techniques also apply to lead generation for CPL offers that you can find on CPA networks. The eight camtasia videos in the series take you from total novice to a plan for making well in excess of 6 figures per year (no income guarantees, of course!).

These are nicely done videos, most of which employ (powerpoint?) slide presentations to illustrate each point. The narrator explains the logic of lead generation, and then goes on to illustrate, clearly and concisely, some basic market research techniques, and criteria for the niches that appear most profitable.

He then goes on to show you the key components of a lead generation site, and spends quite a bit of time discussing how to locate and approach the businesses who are your potential clientele. He shows you his formula for pricing the leads, based upon easily obtained knowledge about potential customers, how to drive traffic to a lead gen site, and how to add additional monetization, to get the most from your efforts.

The presentation in these videos is clear and crisp, and the methodology suggested is sound. Having researched this business model quite heavily in the past six months myself, I know that other people are doing this quite successfully and lucratively, using much the same methods as suggested in these videos.

The one thing that seems to be lacking is the section on generating traffic. While that is a whole topic in and of itself, the author gives it short shrift in this video course, in spite of making the point that your ability to drive traffic and generate leads in volume will be critical to your success.

Refreshingly, the author doesn't present this as some "magic bullet" system with a bunch of pie in the sky claims. He makes it clear that there is some work involved to get the potentially substantial rewards from a successful lead generation business.

By the way, that word "business" is critical. The author approaches this as a business, and encourages you to do the same, unlike so many people who want to sell you a system, but fail to tell you that it takes work, and should be approached as a business and not a sure thing.

You may just end up being convinced that generating leads for direct sale to businesses is an even more lucrative business model, or can add an extra stream of revenue to your web site.
